Sacristy & Vestry Design and Installation

The Sacristy or Vestry of a church is an extension of the chapel. Far from being a storage room, it is meant to house the most precious items in possession of the church. It plays an important role in how every church functions on a daily basis.

From our initial design specifications from our clients, right through  to installation; ICS ensure these spaces are well planned in order be both a beautiful and revered space in connection to the sanctuary, but also that it is well-ordered and pragmatically fitted to the necessities of all of its functions.

Architectural Joinery

ICS Contract Furnishers have vast experience in providing full project management, from initial consultation to final installation. Within a single company, we offer a unique integration of services and products – combining consultation, design and manufacture with full project management; traditional skills with modern technology. We create architectural joinery for public and private buildings, including doors, screens, panelling and more. We work with conservation architects to preserve the integrity of a building; matching style, colour and, where required, the aged appearance of existing woodwork.

Church Doors

Traditional gothic church doors are something we specialise in, whether in reproduction or contemporary style. Where extensions are added to buildings or solid gothic doors are replaced with glazed versions to bring light into a space, we match the existing door detail.

Church Screens

Screens, whether solid or see-through, are a good means of dividing spaces without the need to construct a wall.

In St Fintan’s Church, Raheen, Co Laois, the use of a solid-oak, see-through screen enhanced the overall feel of the space and created a sense of focus in what was a simple barn-style church.
