St Marys Church Warwick
Project Details
History:St Marys Church Warwick encapsulates English history and stunning architecture while creating a place for peaceful prayer. With its chancel roof it also provides for amazing acoustics during the many musical events that are hosted there.
Founded in 1123 by Roger de Newburgh, the Earl of Warwick this 300+ Capacity Church houses the Beaucamp Chapel, a magnificent example of the European ecclesiastical architecture of its time, and ranks as one of this country’s greatest treasures. The Chapel also houses the tombs of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, his brother Ambrose Dudley, Earl of Warwick, and Robert’s son, the “Noble Impe”.
The Chancel, Vestry and Chapter House were rebuilt in the Fourteenth Century by Thomas Beauchamp, and this section of the building represents one of the highest peaks of English Gothic architecture. The tomb of Thomas Beauchamp stands in front of the high altar; the tiny figures around its base give a fine depiction of Fourteenth Century English fashion. Fulke Greville’s enigmatic monument takes up most of the Chapter House.
ICS Furnishers solution:
St Mary’s Church is a popular venue for a range of high-quality concerts, drama events and art exhibitions throughout the year. There came a real need to change the old church chairs to allow for greater flexibility to accommodate these wide-ranging events. The answer to this came in the form of the ICON 40 Chair from ICS Church Furniture.

“ICS have looked after us very well. The design of the furniture was crucial to the whole project and Gavin took the time to understand our needs and design and deliver the right product for us. Before production samples were made and brought to us, which was very helpful as we realised our design on the choir seating needed to be adjusted – which was done without any fuss or problem. I can (and often do when visitors comment on our church) recommend ICS to anyone looking to replace their furniture. Quality products, bespoke design, and good care of customers – I couldn’t have asked for more.”
