Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, Tuam Co. Galway
Project Details
ICS were contracted to design, manufacture and install a joinery package consisting of the full cabinetry for the sacristy area.
We also designed and manufactured the oak and brass cross suspended over the tabernacle stand.
Finally we completed the manufacture and installation of the Ambry Oils cabinet which was designed by Wejchert architects.
This is part of a larger restoration project being undertaken by JJ Rattigan and Conservation Architects Fitzgerald Kavanagh.
The Cathedral was consecrated in 1878 and showcases some of the finest church architecture and historical artefacts in Ireland.

“ICS have looked after us very well. The design of the furniture was crucial to the whole project and Gavin took the time to understand our needs and design and deliver the right product for us. Before production samples were made and brought to us, which was very helpful as we realised our design on the choir seating needed to be adjusted – which was done without any fuss or problem. I can (and often do when visitors comment on our church) recommend ICS to anyone looking to replace their furniture. Quality products, bespoke design, and good care of customers – I couldn’t have asked for more.”
