Knock Seat

Knock Seat

Project Details

Knock Shrine, located in Co Mayo, is Ireland’s national Marian shrine, visited by over 1.5m pilgrims each year.

We designed, manufactured and installed 4,300 seats as well as altar furniture for Knock Basilica – our largest project to date. Our special solid hardwood flip-up type of seating replaced tubular metal chairs with plywood seat and back.

The main purpose of the flip-up seats is to allow the free movement of people between rows.

  • The seat has a solid timber beam with individual metal flip-up mechanisms.
  • The full three-dimensional seat and back ensure that comfort is maximised.

  • It can be manufactured using any hardwood material.
  • Metal components can be of any RAL colour.

We have a vast selection of some 1,200 fabrics to choose from, from tweeds and moquettes to leathers and dralons.
The seating is fixed in location using chemical anchors and is not stackable.

  • Bookshelves
